Shaun Plays in UVU Pep Band

Shaun's friend Anastasia is in the music program at Utah Valley University. Anastasia and the other music people at UVU were invited to play in the school's pep band for basketball games. Shaun decided to tag along and play in the pep band also. He discovered that the other trumpet players didn't have the chops to do much, so he liked being the one who could do the most with his playing. They had a problem getting people to come play, so they told the ones who did come that they would try to find a way to pay them for their time supporting the basketball team. Shaun loved that idea but wasn't sure he could get paid if he didn't have a student number at UVU. I helped him apply for admissions to UVU, registered him for a class, had him get an activity card, and then we dropped the class. That way he was officially on the school's records and had an UVU card and student number. At the end of the season Shaun received a $75 scholarship in the mail. It had all of the normal restrictions like being a full time student, so we were worried he wouldn't be able to get paid. Luck was with Shaun and for this scholarship it didn't matter. They could get the money anyway. Shaun is eagerly waiting for a check to show up in the mail.
