Leona Taylor Wedding Shower
August 5, 2009
Leona, who is a niece on the Walker side of the family, is getting married on August 18, 2009. Her sister Eva, and her sister-in-law Ruth, planned a wedding shower for her. It was held at Ann Walker's house in Alpine. Heidi arrived in town from Henderson, Nevada the day before the shower and so Heidi and Meghan went to the shower with me. Ryan and Brittania were out of town for their 5th anniversary and it was their night to take Grandpa Walker dinner. Since they were gone we took Grandpa Walker dinner on our way to the shower and took a few minutes to visit. He was glad to see Heidi and Meghan.
Heidi and Meghan with Grandpa Weber Read Walker
Ann and Weber have fun things in their backyard that Meghan loved. She started out on the trampoline, tried the swing, the teeter totter, the rope swing, the teeter totter on the swing set. She loved all the fun things, and all the kids that were about her size.
Heidi made Leona's gift like the one that she made Carrie. Leona had a letter with numbered blanks in it to read out loud. When she came to a numbered blank, she opened a gift that would help her to fill in the blank. It is always a fun present to give.

Taking Care of Wesley and Buttercup
The Turner family went to Texas for another wedding reception for Carrie and Jason. After we got home from the wedding shower, Rachel brought over her Russion Dwarf Hamsters (2 of them) for us to take care of. They are Buttercup and Wesley. Meghan was very interested in them, and so was Charlie. Charlie kept putting his paws up on the counter and his nose against the cage to see what was there. I guess we didn't take very good care of them because Wesley kept eating his food real fast and then trying to steal the food pellett from Buttercup. Wesley was pretty rough in trying to steal the food. On Sunday, I went to feed them and couldn't find Buttercup. I found Buttercup burrowed in the bedding, dead. Buttercup had been badly beaten up and mauled. Wesley was bad, bad, bad. Sorry Rachel, we tried to take good care of them.

Wedding Reception
August 6, 2009
My nephew Mark Taylor and Amber got married in April 2009. Mark had joined the Army and was at his training in Texas. He found out that at the end of all of his training he would be stationed in Korea. If he had a spouse or family to take with him it took 4 months for them to get clearance. Mark and Amber had planned on getting married at a later time, but when they found out that they had a time constraint for her to go to Korea with him they got married on a weekend that Amber went to visit Mark in Texas. They had the reception August 6, after Mark was done with all of his training and was able to come home before his transfer to Korea.
